Cincinnati 5NW (Ronald Rothhaas Jr) - June was somewhat cool but very dry.  Despite frequent rounds of heavy showers and thunderstorms which dumped 5 inches in one week not too far away, all these rains uncannily missed this location.  0.54 fell on the 19th and 0.44 fell on the 22nd which kept browning lawns from totally going to pot.  The last two weekends of the month were beautiful with bright sunshine and dewpoints in the 40's.

Cleves 3NW (James F. Davis)- June ended up normal on temps and below normal on rain.

Kent 2W (Eric Wertz) -  June was characterized by a more tranquil weather pattern that resulted in normal precipitation and normal temperatures.  Measurable precipitation occurred on 18 days with 7 thunderstorm and 1 fog day noted.  Isolated strong thunderstorms swept across portions of northern Ohio on the 1st with gusty winds.  The high wind gust of the month was 36 mph associated with these thunderstorms on the 1st.  The heaviest 24 hour rainfall was 0.53" on the 11th.  During the month, a total of 11 watches and warnings were issued.  Total monthly rainfall was 3.51".  The mean high wind gust for June was a normal 16.4 mph.

Kidron 1N (Ronald Hahn) Temperatures in June averaged about a degree below normal but rainfall was 4.06" above normal.  A total rainfall of 7.08" made this the second wettest June in my 42 years of record.  The wettest June was in 1989 when 10.16' of rain was recorded.

Munroe Falls 1SW (Larry Huff)-   Second coolest June since records began in 1993 with a mean temperature of 65.3 degrees.  Coolest  was June 2003 with a mean of 64.5 degrees.

Newcomerstown 1S (Don Keating)Temperatures averaged below normal. Average high was 78.8 or -3.8 degrees. Average low was 58.1 or -0.9 degrees and the mean temperature was 68.4 or -4.7 degrees. Average high wind gust was 17.4 mph and there were 7 thunder days.

Ravenna 1E (Rich Rabatin) - JJune gave Portage County its first O Zone Day of 2004, which was on the 8th.
Ravenna 1E also had 2-flood watches on the 16th and 17th., along with 5 T'Storm watches, 3 Severe T'Storm warning days, and a Tornado Warning for Northern Portage County on the 17th.

Ravenna 1SE (Gary Locke)  June was a relatively docile month for this station with only one day (6/14/04)of severe weather.  Only five thunderstorm days were reported during month.

Springfield (Dick Groeber)
Temperatures were at or below normal during the first and last third of the month. They were above normal during the middle third with humid conditions.  The rainfall was centered during the middle third of the month with one storm siege giving over two inches on the 11th.   A week long period rainless period began the month. Scattered light showers covered the last third.

Thompson 5SW (Vance Lunn)- The weather in June alternated between plaesant, mild periods and cool periods.  Each period lasted about 3-4 days.  There was no hot weather.  The maximum temperature on the 25th was only 58 degrees.  Highs were mostly in the 60's and 70's with some 80's and lows were mostly in the 40's and 50's with only a few 60's.  The most significant rain event was the 9th-11th with 1.48 inches during those three days.  Thinder occured on 4 days and fog on 6.

Wooster 7N (Jack Sisler) June was somewhat of a cool but very wet month. Mean temperatures were slightly below normal with the colder readings occuring the last half of the month. There were a few low temperature records set during the last week. Precipitation was much above normal with a monthly total of 5.28" which is almost two inches above normal. This also puts the yearly rainfall total almost 1.5" above normal. June 2004 will be the third wettest on record at my location. There was no severe weather although there was a few close calls.
