After accruing so many miles from the trip to Australia, my friend Randy and I had enough miles for a free ticket within the US, so we took up USAir on the offer and got tickets to Seattle. Over nine days we visited Seattle, Vancouver, Victoria, and Whistler, all on public transportation!

Despite the beauty of the area, with the grey skies most of the time, the pictures didn't come out as well as I'd hoped, so bear that in mind.

SEATTLE

• The Space Needle
• Seattle from the Needle, with (I think) Lake Washington in the foreground.
• Downtown Seattle over the back of Safeco field.
• The roof of Safeco Field, with some piers in the foreground.
• Mount Rainier in the distance as we return to Seattle from Victoria on Puget Sound.

VANCOUVER

• The Capilano Suspension Bridge
• Me and one of the many native totem pole replicas found in Stanley Park.
• With the clouds, this was the "best" of the spectacular views I could get of Vancover from Grouse Mountain.
• More of downtown Vancouver, from the confines of Stanley Park.

VICTORIA

• One view of the Burchart Gardens.
• Randy in front of the BC Parliament, lit up at night.
• A close-up of the Parliament at night.
• The Inner Harbour during the day.
• Getting ready for the killer whales, I won't quit my day job.
• While I didn't have the dexterity to actually take a photo of a whale above the water, I did manage to get 4 fins at once.
