Cairo department store. We saw a few stores like these; century-old grand stores with huge atriums and chandeliers. They are all run as a state enterprise now, with next to nothing for sale, yet a surprisingly large staff, who as you'd imagine are bored out of their minds (and aren't that amused when you try to interact with the mannequins).
