St. Petersburg, Russia. The Cathedral of Our Lady of Kazan, built at the beginning of the 19th century, was placed facing the busiest street in St. Petersburg, Nevsky Prospekt. Its monuments out front, as with most monuments in Russia it seems, commemorate military victories, in this case over Napoleon in 1812.
