Tallinn, Estonia.Only 80km from Helsinki across the Gulf of Finland, Tallinn was a pretty simple day trip. During our visit you could see the massive redevelopment the city is undertaking following its membership in the EU. One of its claims to fame is one of the best-preserved medieval towns in northern Europe. Here is a view of the town walls and defense towers, some of which date back to the 14th century, from the elevated Toompea district. St. Olav's Church, in the center, was at one point the tallest building in the world.
