The weather station is located in an urban
residential neighborhood on the east side of a hill. The station is
approximately 1.5 miles west of downtown Akron, and around 100 feet higher
in elevation. The station uses

Records begin 10 October 2002. All instruments were originally situated in the backyard, approximately
6 feet above ground level. On 27 October 2003, the anemometer was moved to
a rooftop location approximately 40 feet above ground level.
